Campos area guide: things to do, local history and walks
Start in Campos if you fancy a market town with time for breakfast, then head towards Es Trenc for dunes, salt flats and a stretch of open coast. Sa Ràpita gives you another reason to make a day of it.

What to see and how to plan your visit
Start in Campos town for streets and squares or choose Sa Ràpita and Es Trenc for a coastal day. Check park access and parking before travelling.
Local history and heritage
At Es Trenc–Salobrar de Campos, the salt landscape and coastal habitats belong to the same protected area. The park authority also identifies surviving coastal defence structures on the beaches.
Suggested walk or outdoor visit
Use the park’s current visitor routes and boardwalks. Keep out of dunes and salt-working areas unless access is specifically allowed.
Regular markets
- Campos town: Thursdays in Plaça de sa Creu and Plaça Major. Saturdays, stalls run from Plaça de sa Creu to Plaça dels Tres Molins.
- Sa Ràpita: Wednesdays and Saturdays in Plaça de ses Palmeres.
What makes this area special
The town’s farming heritage and the protected salt-and-dune landscape at the coast give Campos two very different days out.

Beaches and swimming spots
- Es Trenc and Ses Covetes. Choose the protected coast for dunes and open sand. Use the designated entrances and bring your own shade.
- Sa Ràpita. A good starting point if you want the beach and the waterfront on the same outing. Check the beach entry before bringing a pushchair.
Check the flag and current conditions on the day. If you need step-free access or specific facilities, use the linked beach information to pick your entrance.
Before you go, see our Mallorca beach etiquette and safety guide for swimming flags, Blue Flag beaches and what to do in an emergency.
S’Embat in Ses Covetes is a casual chiringuito for food and drinks. Check the venue’s programme if you’re going for the music. See our beach club and chiringuito guide.
What to eat here
Look out for local cheese or olives at the market, or take a Mallorcan savoury coca to the coast. If you’re going into the natural park, buy what you need before you leave town.
Good to know before you go
Check designated parking and beach access for the part of the coast you want. Pack drinking water and shade for a long beach stop.
