Santa Maria del Camí area guide: things to do, local history and walks
Sunday market is a good excuse to visit Santa Maria del Camí, and the surrounding wineries are a good excuse to come back. If you do both on the same day, leave enough time to wander through the old streets between stops.

What to see and how to plan your visit
Start around the parish church and the public streets of the centre. If you want to visit a winery or time the trip around the market, check the current dates and bookings first.
Local history and heritage
The surrounding vineyards connect the town to the agricultural history of the Raiguer. The centre gives a different view of local heritage from a winery visit.
A short walk
Choose a village walk first. If you want a longer hike, use the Consell’s mapped Tramuntana routes and confirm the route and access before setting out.
Regular markets
Sunday mornings in Plaça Nova and the adjoining streets in Santa Maria del Camí.
What makes this area special
A market town and wine-country stop with a lively calendar across the year.

Beach trips from here
Platja de Palma. Plan it as a separate coast trip for sand and places to eat. The beach is long, so choose a specific stop.
Before you go, see our Mallorca beach etiquette and safety guide for swimming flags, Blue Flag beaches and what to do in an emergency.

What to eat here
Buy olives, fruit or a bakery snack at the Sunday market. If wine is on the agenda, book a tasting and ask about bottles from the Binissalem denomination.
Good to know before you go
If you’re arriving by train, check the walk from the station and the return service. Book the winery separately and check its address. Check the TIB planner if you’re relying on public transport.
