Bunyola area guide: things to do, local history and walks
The old Sóller train still stops in Bunyola, but there’s a case for getting off here. Between the gardens at Alfàbia, the woodland of Sa Comuna and the village of Orient, you could easily give this bit of the Tramuntana a day of its own.

What to see and how to plan your visit
Choose Bunyola village for a centre-based stop, Orient for a valley setting, or the Jardins d’Alfàbia for a visit with its own opening hours.
Local history and heritage
At Alfàbia, gardens, buildings and water features give you a way to read the history of a mountain estate. Nearby Sa Comuna is public woodland with a distinct landscape.
The Serra de Tramuntana cultural landscape
UNESCO’s World Heritage listing recognises a cultural landscape shaped by agriculture, water management and dry-stone construction. Use the official boundary maps to see how the designated landscape relates to the places you plan to visit.
Suggested walk or outdoor visit
Check the municipality’s published Sa Comuna itineraries and choose one for your group. Orient and the woodland are separate outing options.
Regular markets
- Bunyola village: Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7am to 1.30pm, in Sa Plaça, the village’s main square.
- Palmanyola: Thursdays and Saturdays in Palmanyola, a separate settlement within the municipality.
