Costitx area guide: things to do, local history and walks
Three bronze bulls put Costitx on the archaeological map. Start in the village, then use the Sencelles–Costitx route to put the Son Corró sanctuary in context. It’s a good excuse to take the inland roads at a gentler pace.

What to see and how to plan your visit
Start with the village centre and check visitor information for Son Corró before going out to the archaeological site.
Local history and heritage
The sanctuary of Son Corró is associated with the bronze bull heads that became a symbol of Costitx. The archaeological site and the objects recovered from it tell different parts of the story; check where objects are displayed before planning a museum visit.
A short walk
Make the archaeology its own stop and use public streets around Costitx for a short walk.
Regular markets
Saturday mornings in Plaça de la Mare de Déu, in Costitx village.

What makes this area special

What to eat here
For a picnic, look for local almonds, Mallorcan olive oil and something savoury from a bakery. It’s an easy lunch to pack before exploring the archaeology route.
Good to know before you go
Check public access if the observatory is the reason for your visit. The archaeological stops are spread out, so pick the ones you want in advance. Check the TIB planner if you’re relying on public transport.
