Created by a small but mighty team of local journalists, creatives and long-term residents, Majorca Mallorca exists to connect you with the best of the island: the beaches and the backroads, the hottest events and the hidden gems, the food trucks and the fine dining.
We live here, work here and yes, we still get excited when the almond blossom appears.
We’re not here to sell you a dream. We’re here to help you live it.
Who We Are
Majorca Mallorca is an independent, locally based English-language platform covering life on the island for residents, visitors and people planning to spend time here.
We publish practical information, local news, interviews, events, podcasts, guides and stories about the people, businesses and communities that make Mallorca what it is.
Our aim is to go beyond the standard holiday brochure.
We want Majorca Mallorca to be useful whether you are trying to understand a road closure, discover what is happening this weekend, find a local business, plan a holiday, listen to an expert explain an island issue or simply keep up with what is going on around you.
Where We’re Based
Majorca Mallorca is based in Mallorca.
Our team lives and works on the island, and our coverage is informed by direct local experience as well as research, interviews and official sources.
We are not writing about Mallorca from another country or producing generic AI destination content from afar, although we know there are some websites doing just that…
The island is our home, our workplace and the subject we cover every day.

Who Writes for Majorca Mallorca
Majorca Mallorca is led by people with long-term experience of living and working on the island.
Vicki McLeod
Vicki McLeod is co-founder and editor of Majorca Mallorca.
A British writer, interviewer, photographer and content strategist, she has lived in Mallorca since 2004 and writes about island life, local news, tourism, events, businesses and the people who shape Mallorca.
Her work is grounded in more than two decades of living and working here, with particularly strong first-hand knowledge of Palma, Andratx, s’Arracó, Port d’Andratx, Sant Elm, Calvià and the south-west of Mallorca.
Oliver Neilson
Oliver is a photographer and co-founder of Majorca Mallorca and a regular presenter of the Majorca Mallorca Podcast.
His work centres on long-form conversations with residents, specialists, business owners and people with direct knowledge of the issues affecting the island.
Contributors and specialists, our Mallorca Insiders
We also work with contributors and subject specialists where their knowledge adds depth or clarity.
That might include people with expertise in travel regulations, transport, astronomy, property, marine industries, tourism, culture, food, business or other areas relevant to Mallorca.

For time-sensitive subjects such as road closures, weather, transport changes, emergency measures or major events, we prioritise official and primary sources wherever possible. We also try to distinguish clearly between confirmed information, informed local analysis and opinion.
How We Update Time-Sensitive Information
Mallorca moves quickly, particularly during high season, major events and periods of disruption.
When information changes, we update important guides rather than leaving outdated information online.
Where appropriate, articles include a last updated date so readers can see when the information was most recently reviewed.
We may also create supporting articles where a subject becomes too detailed for one page, for example road closures, safety information or transport arrangements.
Our aim is to make information easier to use, not simply to keep adding more words.

We are not owned by a tourism authority, hotel group, property company or external media organisation.
Our editorial decisions are made by people who live and work in Mallorca.
Local knowledge changes the way a story is told, it means understanding when a supposedly perfect viewpoint is actually inaccessible, when an event matters deeply to a particular community and when official information needs a little more explanation before it becomes understandable.
Why the Name?
Because no one can agree how to spell it, but everyone wants to be here 🙂
